Support

Current work on SCI PILOT (2001 - 2003) is supported by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation.

The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation exists to create new and applied knowledge through strategic investment in the neurotrauma field, and to build the research capacity of the neurotrauma field, with the vision of reducingd impact, incidence and prevalence of neurotrauma injuries and to have people living with brain and spinal cord injuries participating as full members of society.

More information is available at their website: http://www.onf.org.

SCI PILOT is managed from the Research Department at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Lyndhurst Centre, a publicly-funded spinal cord rehabilitation service in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Substantial in-kind contributions have been made by two other Toronto-area rehabilitation centres, without which the project would not have been possible: Bloorview MacMillan Centre and West Park Hospital.

The initial project to develop SCI PILOT (1999 - 2002) was funded by the Paralyzed Veterans of America Spinal Cord Injury Education and Training Foundation.

All of the content in SCI PILOT has been reviewed by an expert panel consisting of consumers and service providers. We are grateful for their insightful comments. This Content Review Team has the following members:
Omari Brookes
Barrington Coke
Audrey King

During the developmental stages of this initiative, feedback was given from a variety of sources, including consumer oriented listserves and a number of rehabilitation service providers. These discussions helped shape the resource, and we are grateful to these individuals.
Finally, we would like to thank the anonymous participants in the project, who took the time to explain their assistive technology experiences to us. Their voluntary contributions are the basis for the SCI PILOT resource.
